This position is responsible for conducting research and
development in the field of Power System and electricity
Market design, operation and analysis for the ISO New
England’s Business Architecture & Technology Department.
The employee in this position will: develop and present
business and technical solutions for different projects
and assignments; conduct research and development for
major company technical initiatives and innovations;
provide preventive and proactive analysis of the
business needs for new solutions and tools.
This position requires 3+(senior)/10+(principal) years
of work in the Electric Utilities Industry, knowledge of
power system modeling and operations, electricity
pricing models and markets operations, strong
mathematical skills. Knowledge of GAMS, MATLAB, CPLEX or
similar tools, and/or experience in scientific software
development is a plus. Coursework or experience with
Unit Commitment and Economic Dispatch methodology,
advanced topics in operations research, statistical
analysis, and microeconomics is highly desirable. The
ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in
writing is required. Minimum academic requirement is PhD
degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems),
Operations Research or equivalent.
