Responsible for cataloging serials in electronic and other formats, including government documents. Creates serial check-in and item level records, adds holding statements, and transfers order and bibliographic records. Makes additions and other updates to Serials Solutions. Assists with solving electronic coverage load problems and with maintaining electronic check-in records. Creates and edits Local Holdings records. Works on special cataloging and database editing projects.
Minimum Required Qualifications
High School education or equivalency plus three years of relevant experience required; year-for-year post-secondary education may be substituted for experience. Computer skills required. Demonstrated flexibility and ability to move easily between changing priorities is necessary. Ability to work accurately with detailed rules and information is essential. Must demonstrate strong interpersonal and written and oral communication skills.
Experience with OCLC system plus a basic understanding of cataloging principles are preferred.
