Provides level-2 server administration support for corporate Intel servers, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, and VMWare. This includes, but is not limited to, user account administration, security, software installation, operating system patch control, virus protection maintenance and development of operational processes and procedures for the Intel Server, Microsoft, and VMWare environments.
This position will be the level 2 support upon the dispatch of a help call for problem determination, troubleshooting and resolution. Includes coordinating support from 3rd-party service providers. Also supports applications in the networked environment, such as email, systems management servers, server-based faxing and others as needed.
Designs processes for administrating, monitoring and reporting server capacity (disk, memory, user accounts, data directories, CPU utilization, patch levels, etc.).
Designs and maintains operational documentation for network configurations, disaster recovery procedures and backup procedures.
Provides Level-2 technical consulting to the IS Service Desk, internal customers and other IS functional areas with regard to network hardware, software and capabilities.
Provides support of business projects, and leads medium to large size cross-functional projects, generally related to O&M functions.
Utilizes and manages third party vendors in systems support and implementations when necessary.
Must have good analytical, statistical and problem solving skills with excellent understanding of current IT trends and their impact on business strategies.
Must apply project management skills in the development of project plans for self and others within the group, as well as providing assistance in the development of mid and long range planning for IS.
Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related technical discipline is required.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server environments
In-depth support experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange 2010.
Proven experience with VMware Vsphere ESXi 4.x and/or 5.x. Experience with vCenter 4.x and/or 5.x and troubleshooting performance based virtual issues.
Any experience with SAN based storage systems and backup software specifically Dell/EqualLogic and iSCSI networking is desired.
Must attain and keep current appropriate industry certifications (Microsoft and VMWare)
The capability to be on-call 7 by 24, and work odd hours.
The capability to work in manufacturing plant conditions.
Travels regularly (10% -15%) – Domestic/International
Ability to clearly communicate business and technical concepts in writing or orally.
