Service Manager Job Description: ADMAR Supply Company has an exciting career opportunity for a Service Manager at our Albany, NY branch. The Service Manager will be responsible for oversight of the repair and maintenance of our rental fleet of high reach and light construction equipment. This individual must be service minded, customer focused, and able to direct and manage a team of technicians. The Service Manager will have extensive experience in the repair and maintenance of construction related equipment with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, highly demanding environment.
Reports to: Branch Manager Duties and Responsibilities: Scheduling the timely repairs for rental and customer equipment. Utilize the service tracking system for all routine maintenance and work orders. Coordinates and maintains schedules for all Service Technicians. Provides technical solutions to complex problems either troubleshooting the systems / equipment or advises others on how to resolve problems. Coordinates with Sales Representatives on new equipment start-ups as well as sales leads for new customers. Oversee revenue, margin, labor and material, costs, and reviewing efficiencies. Investigates customer calls or claims and provides recommendations and feedback to branch management regarding causes and resolutions. Must possess strong decision making and judgment skills. Any other duties as assigned by the Branch Manager. In conjunction with the Branch Manager, supervise all service employees including: hiring; training; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Make sure all facilities are clean, organized and comply with OSHA regulations. Ensure all employees are using assigned PPE and working in a safe manner at all times. Ensure a safe work environment for customers and employees. Position Requirements – The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required for this position. Experience: Prior work experience in the construction field including aerial lifts, booms, scissor, service, road service and dirt equipment. Diesel and hydraulic experience necessary. Prior experience in a supervisory role; preferably in the construction, equipment, or repair shop industries. Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with all levels of an organization. Comfortable working in a fast paced, high pressure environment with a high level of complexity. Results and process oriented. Excellent understanding of the organizations goals and objectives. Exceptional customer service orientation which demonstrates flexibility to meet customer needs.Education: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.Skills: Ability to read, write and understand policies, procedures, contracts and detailed correspondence. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and work with common fractions and decimals to figure items such as discounts. Ability to effectively communicate with and respond to inquiries from customers and other employees. Excellent listening skills and strong interpersonal communication skills. Knowledge of administrative procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures. Proficiency in MS Office applications including Excel, Outlook and Word. Experience with AS400 preferred. Must have a valid drivers license. DOT medical card helpful. Physical: Must be able to work in service environment which includes: routine walking, talking, sitting, standing, stooping, bending, reaching, seeing, carrying and lifting up to 50 lbs.
