Currently, Meijer is looking for a Service Team Leader. The individual selected for this position will be responsible for providing the customer with a fast and friendly quality shopping experience through services provided by team members at the Service Desk. The individual will also deliver remarkable customer service at the Service Desk by achieving Brand Promises; i.e. "Provide an easy shopping experience for our customers." The Service Team leader will also be responsible for achieving store financial performance goals.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Ensuring credit card applications are at or above goal
  • Storing Subject Matter Expert and facilitator of Community Awards and in-store community board
  • Assisting with and facilitating monthly meetings related to Shrink and coordinating efforts to monitor and achieve shrink goals
  • Responsible for assisting in the reduction of store shrink and collaborating with Shrink Analyst on store stockloss concerns
  • Responsible for all Financial Services programs
  • Completing Cash Office internal audits monthly
  • Mentoring and coaching Cash Office team members, Greeters and Customer Service Desk team members
  • Ensuring training curriculum is completed for all Cash Office team members, Greeters and Customer Service Desk team members
  • Backing-up schedule writer
  • Spending 30% of shift on sales floor to communicate with customers and team members to ensure exceptional service is provided
  • Preparing and administering cash control discipline for Customer Service Department
  • Preparing cash control discipline for all departments and following up for completion
  • Investigating cash over/shorts and drive offs
  • Ensuring Audit Compliance is met
  • Monitoring and ensuring that all financial goals are being met
  • Conducting applicant interviews to ensure proper staffing levels
  • There is a 40 hours (non-exempt) pay base for this position
  • Other daily tasks as required

  • Successful completion of all required Customer Service Department training curriculums
  • Basic computer skills (e.g. Word, Excel, etc.), and proficiency in Meijer computer program applications (e.g. Activity Based Scheduling, MYINFO, PeopleSoft, My Team)
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of Cash Office and Customer Service Desk operations
  • Ability to analyze financial data and create a culture of compliance
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of shrink
  • Achieves reductions in store stockloss
  • Ability to operate the cash register system
  • Maintains a positive working relationship with customers, team members and leadership
  • Possesses strong leadership, mentoring and communication skills
  • Possesses strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • This position may require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, squatting, stooping, kneeling and/or climbing
