Examples of Work Performed:
Act as a monitor at a yard waste site by opening the site each day, cleaning up trash, assisting the public in depositing yard waste or collecting compost, maintaining records of users, distributing information to users, directing traffic at the site, preventing unauthorized use of the site, and closing and locking the site at the end of the day.
Provide information to individuals.
Education: Sufficient to perform the work assigned.
Experience: Must be able to read and write English and communicate with the public.
Other: Minimum age is 16.
Exam/Screening Process Information:
Examination: NO EXAMINATION WILL BE GIVEN FOR SERVICE WORKER (COMPOST SITE MONITOR).
The names of all applicants who meet the minimum qualifications stated above and who file a properly completed application by Wednesday, February 6, 2013 will be placed on the eligible list for employment as a Service Worker (Compost Site Monitor). Names will remain on the list for one year.
NOTE: Service Worker is a seasonal job and positions and hours will vary and will include weekend hours. The current vacancies are for intermittent or on call positions with no set hours or location, and no guarantee as to the number of hours an employee will receive. There are a total of seven yard waste sites open from late March or early April through November. Three of the seven sites are also open one weekend per month during the winter.
