EMC and VMware have just launched a spinoff company targeting the fast growing “big data” market. Combining the resources and products from GreenPlum, Spring/vFabric, Pivotal Labs, Cloud Foundry and Cetas, we’ve started with 1,200+ employees and $350M in revenue to form Pivotal focused on PaaS, Analytics at scale and Open Source.

We are adding an experienced Services Sales Manager to our staff who will cover portions of the west region. The SSM will develop and manage sales pursuits related to big data analytics, close sales opportunities, and meet or exceed territory sales targets using their deep industry expertise.

Because of the complexity of this type of sale we are offering a larger base salary (70/30 split). He/she should have established strong relationships with C-level clients, business and technical buyers, and key project stakeholders. As a key member of our services sales team, you must thrive in an environment that is highly collaborative. These positions are focused on the enterprise customer segment.

Services Sales Managers (SSM) work closely with the software sales team to drive business development for Enterprise Consulting Services by preparing project proposals (SOWs) that include business and technical requirements as well as the appropriate solutions, schedules and delivery times for successful projects.

The SSM brings a strong foundation of in-depth infrastructure knowledge, together with Pre-Sales and scope management expertise, to effectively design and deploy effective, high-impact technical and business process solutions.

Key competencies for success are:
Must have a deep understanding of Data Science/Analytics to effectively design a value solution

Proven track record of increasing services revenue through development of new customer base

Strong understanding of how to grow an under-developed or under-penetrated territory

Must have experience with data analytics, enterprise solutions and or “big data” marketing experience

Proven experience selling complex enterprise solutions

Ability to travel a 2-3 nights/week in the west region

Possess an entrepreneurial spirit or worked in a fluid (startup) environment
