As a Shipping
Manager , you will Oversee and control the activities of all personnel
within the Shipping organization. The main functions are: 1) Ensure that all
freight is shipped to the correct destination using the best carrier, price and
level of service; 2) Ensure that all outbound shipments are processed and
loaded, in accordance with daily priorities; 3) Ensure that carrier’s
performance is excellent and acceptable for our customers; 4) Ensure that the
billing from our carriers is correct; 5) Advise management of problems that
adversely affect the timely shipment of customer orders; 6) Ensure that all
additional tasks or priorities assigned on a day to day “as needed” basis, are
completed in accordance with direction given.; 7) Develop and implement a
performance reporting system to measure the effectiveness of the area(s) of
responsibility. Utilizing supervisors
and leads manage the activities of up to 35 hourly employees.
