Perform Instrumentation Engineering (IE) and analysis for weapons system testing. The field IE will be an integral part of the testing team responsible for collecting, validating, and delivering test data to the Test Engineer (TE) in a timely manner and in accordance with the test plan. Data collection requires hands-on work in the field. The IE will work with other engineers to identify test issues and improve the technical product. Provide technical support in the planning, setup, execution and data analysis for all testing being conducted.
Active Secret clearance.
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
Knowledge of Windows Operating System including MS Excel, Matlab, and mechanical design using 3D CAD modeling software. Configure, understand and implement a wide range of instrumentation including, but not limited to accelerometers, pressure gauges, strain gauges, high-speed cameras, and thermocouples. Knowledge of hydrodynamic and/or electrodynamic shaker systems used in vibration testing. Ability to work in a high tempo fast paced team environment, to solve problems and identify deficiencies associated with instrumentation support, to work directly with both internal and external programs/projects, and to effectively communicate both orally and in writing to
