The Shop Operations Leader will demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to affect short-term and some long-term business goals.
In addition, you will:
Maintain care, custody, control, and safe operation & maintenance of a plant and staff
Establish and sustain a culture that promotes a safe and positive work environment
Assure environmental, health and safety compliance
Develop and implement procedures and systems for plant personnel to operate and maintain the plant in a safe and effective manner
Prepare customer annual budget and manage plant expenditures appropriately
Hire, train, supervise and evaluate an effective workforce and delegate / monitor work activities for safe and efficient plant operation
Hire, evaluate, and monitor work activities of contractors / subcontractors for maintenance and repair activities for plant equipment
Understand and execute O&M contract requirements
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 additional years of experience in a support or field engineering role)
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a management role
Ability and willingness to climb ladders and stairs
Ability and willingness to walk or sit for up to 8 hours continuously

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
Additional experience in industrial / utility / power plant systems
Ability to manage multiple projects / tasks
Field Engineering Program Graduate (GE Employees only)
Six Sigma certification (GE Employees only)
Ability to set and meet aggressive targets
Asserts influence over events to achieve goals
Capable of identifying individual strengths to maximize team performance
Ability to take initiative to seek and act upon opportunities for positive change
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
