Position Summary

Reporting to the Director, the Simulation Specialist is responsible for collaborating in the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of clinician educational initiatives through the use of technology-based training and assessment. The Simulation Specialist will also be responsible for identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation in curricula, and instructional technologies. The Simulation Specialist will be key in the planning and implementation of change initiatives for the integration of Patient Simulation technology into clinician education. The Simulation Specialist provides the leadership required to ensure services are delivered within scope, time, quality, and to client's satisfaction.


Minimum Education/Work Requirements: RN license; Master's degree in relevant health care or education focus; Previous experience in the delivery of pediatric simulation training; Experience in the delivery of PALS/NRP preferred; BLS required; PALS and NRP required (or completed within first year); Will have the opportunity to learn how to drive the Simulation RV and obtain Class B driver's license. Knowledge: Knowledge of Patient Simulation services and applications; Working knowledge of Patient Simulation technologies; Computer literacy in MS and/or Apple software applications; Knowledge of educational adult learning theories; Knowledge of project management theories, principles, practices and processes. Skills and Abilities: Strong analytical, interpretive and problem solving skills; Outstanding communication, organizational and interpersonal skills; Demonstrated leadership abilities; Customer focused; Ability to thrive in a changing environment; Demonstrated commitment to simulation as a teaching strategy; Ability to develop relevant simulation curriculum; Capable of providing relevant simulation educational experiences that cross patient populations and healthcare specialties; Required to lift up to 50 lbs. in preparation for workshops; Required to sit/stand for long periods; Requires regular travel between Children’s facilities, and travel to simulation outreach venues with the mobile simulation RV between March and November. Occasional national travel may be required for educational opportunities and presentation purposes.
