We are seeking a Leader to manage accounting operations for our California locations in both Modesto and Victorville. This role will have the opportunity to develop, monitor and control all of our site systems, policies and procedures. There is also the opportunity to accelerate career growth within the largest privately-held rigid plastics manufacturer in North America, as this role is high visibility within our organization.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to advise on cost and performance issues for two site steering teams. This role can be based out of Victorville or Modesto, California.
RESPONSIBILITIES -California Accounting Leader chief responsibilities are for Sites in Victorville and Modesto, California. -Lead the Sites compliance with the Companys accounting policies and procedures as well as GAAP. -Lead the Sites compliance with external auditor requirements including physical inventory observations, quarterly fluctuation analysis, cutoff procedures, fixed asset accounting, etc. -Formalize the annual budgets, forecasts and other projected financial and operational information. -Track budgets and forecasts against actual costs and explain variances. Work with Site Leadership to develop action plans to achieve targets. -Understanding of product costs including the makeup of actual expenses and related cost drivers. Use understanding to drive financial improvement. -Identify, control and report scrap, expense waste and any other negative impacts to the P&L. Identify areas that affect cash flow and recommend or initiate improvements. -Work closely with Operations leadership on key operations performance metrics to ensure that cost and other financial objectives are achieved. -Prepare financial justifications for capital expenditure projects. Ensure capital assets are properly accounted for. -Supervise and maintain a perpetual inventory control system explaining all cycle counting and physical inventory adjustments. -Supervise and verify the accuracy of financial and operational data as well as Site master data and files. -Provide the Corporate office with data as requested. Participate in Corporate designated projects and initiatives. -Develops improved reporting and analysis systems to allow for better control of plant systems and processes -Drive safety initiatives. -Monitors and actively manages the plant financials. -Additional responsibilities and projects as assigned.
Skills/Qualifications -Four year degree in Business, Accounting or Finance required (MBA, CPA or CMA a plus) -Prior manufacturing facility experience -SAP Experience a Plus -Ability to effectively present information to Senior Management, public groups, and/or Boards, as well as Associates -Team oriented and self-motivated -Ability to multi-task and prioritize to ensure that competing requirements are properly addressed.
