Site CIO, Managed Services - San Francisco, CA

Job Description:
Allscripts’ Managed Services provides strategic services to help healthcare organizations maximize outcomes while accelerating value from Information Technology initiatives. The Managed Services Organization leverages its significant domain expertise of Information Technology processes to assume operational responsibility for key Information Technology projects and services. Allscripts’ Managed Services engagements help clients meet their IT and business goals by increasing return on investment and significantly reducing overall IT risk.

We are currently seeking a Chief Information Officer to provide Executive level IT leadership to one of our Managed Services clients. Ideal candidates should have the following skills and have a strong understanding of healthcare systems.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Strong strategic thinking, leadership, staff development, and change management skills with the ability to synthesize complex business and technical data.
  • Ability to work with leaders within the IT organization to establish, communicate, and implement strategic capabilities.
  • Ability to interact effectively across organization / diverse cultures, and communicate clearly, concisely, and persuasively.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with business partners for assigned domains.
  • Act as the IT escalation point on issues relative to the organization.
  • Identify, monitor, report and trend IT issues related to business and clinical systems.
  • Facilitate remediation efforts to improve stability by actively engaging the appropriate support organization.
  • Identify performance gaps with current system capabilities, as understood by leadership and drive remediation efforts as appropriate.
  • Communicate IT systems health to senior leadership and key IT constituents.
  • Actively engage with internal and external IT providers to ensure services and products developed are delivered meet or exceed business expectations.
  • Provide subject matter expertise regarding process, technology, organization and support to leadership.
  • Understand application / services consumption and cost run rates and recommend areas for cost reduction and synergies.
  • Drive the creation of IT performance measurements including Leading Key Performance Indicators (LKPIs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Operational Level Agreements (OLAs) related to all systems.
  • Understand the strategic direction of the business and related IT platforms.
  • Rationalize and challenge IT capital project plans and spending related to capability domains to ensure focus on strategic systems.
  • Regularly seek opportunities to capitalize on existing enterprise functions as appropriate.
  • Develop and manage an IT strategic plan.
  • Mentor and grow current and future staff.
Job Requirements:
  • 10-15 years experience in Healthcare IT, with exposure to multiple IT functions, including development, infrastructure, PMO and operational support in a large enterprise/global environment.
  • 5 or more years of leadership experience in an IT organization managing a team of IT professionals.
  • Previous CIO experience in a Healthcare environment is preferred.
  • Experience creating comprehensive measurement dashboards regarding the following performance measurements: Leading Key Performance Indicators (LKPIs); Service Level Agreements (SLAs); and/or Operational Level Agreements (OLAs)
  • Prior experience interfacing with executive level management.
  • Strong customer relationship management skills.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience, advanced degree preferred.
Job Requirements:
