Site Continuous Improvement Operations Leader – Cortland, NY
The Site Continuous Improvement Operations Leader is responsible for the development and implementation of the Pall Enterprise System (PES) culture in Pall Trinity Micro. Responsible for coaching Pall Enterprise Systems leaders in the Lean tools to affect the needed changes to meet business requirements. Provides technical support/coaching in PES processes to the Pall Trinity Micro leadership teams to grow the process improvement capabilities within the organization. The individual in this position will need to drive change management, effectively communicate throughout the organization and collaborate with the leadership team to achieve target performance. The PES Leader is responsible for leading the Lean manufacturing plan and events to drive significant improvement in the processes of the overall business, Base and Systems. Initially, the focus is on streamlining operations and manufacturing process through a variety of robust PES tools, known as the Pall Enterprise System (PES). As the job progresses, the PES Leader will transition into a more-operational leadership role to further the performance improvements in Pall Trinity Micro.
Establishes strategies in conjunction with PTM Plant Manager, determines priorities, project goals and assess results by working with plant leadership.
Improves baseline performance relative to cost, quality, cycle time and customer satisfaction by delivering business results through enabling our business groups.
Establishes and monitors an effective continuous improvement project list to ensure we deliver our commitments.
Coordinates drives, leads and executes improvement projects and initiatives by meeting/exceeding business needs.
Identifies and eliminates process waste by continually driving a cultural shift in the organization with sustainable results.
Manages tracks and executes the cost improvement program for the assigned sites. Must ensure savings targets are achieved, to do this must evaluate gaps and identify solutions.
Understands customer requirements and translate these into actions for quality and process improvement by interacting with customers and teams and operations leadership.
Delivers Black Belt, Green Belt, and Yellow Belt as well as Champion/Leadership training for management.
Ensures improvement team targets are consistently met or exceeded by using PES principles and Lean Manufacturing methods and practices. Tracks and reports progress.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results; and leading projects and coaching leadership and assisting in implementations in all areas.
Learns PTM Processes with every intention of taking-on an operational leadership role as time and performance dictates.
MUST be willing and able to step-into an Operational Management role successfully, which might include off-shift coverage for determined periods.
Be a Champion, Enthusiast, Role Model, Coach, Coordinator, and Mentor for the Pall enterprise system Process. Develop others in the company to become facilitators so that they may lead their own improvement processes.
Select, plan and execute various improvement events/projects in conjunction with Plant Manager and Operations Managers, based on outcome objectives. Use various improvement methods to execute such as lean tools, kaizen events, Kanban, cell manufacturing, six sigma, value stream mapping, etc…Gain involvement of other PES Managers in projects, manage the use of these resources to gain maximum improvements.
Drive VOP CIP savings and working capital improvements – oversee site Kaizen funnels.
Drive “End to End “ value stream processes to promote profitable growth.
Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Business, professional engineering certification and/or masters degree preferred.
Minimum two-to-five (2-5) years experience in manufacturing production operations process improvements using Lean manufacturing methodology/Lean manufacturing in a Value Stream environment with a combination of project management and business process analysis.
Minimum five (5) years operational leadership experience in supervision and management in a manufacturing business.
Proven coaching experience including team player development, project management skills, and effective communications both written and verbal with all levels.
Proven leadership experience to deliver results, build effective cross functional multi geographical teams, partnering with all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated experience with successful implementation and use of Six-Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles, practices and methodologies, 5S, Value Stream Manufacturing, and Kepner Tregoe to improve/sustain quality, supply, responsiveness, cost and organizational excellence.
Statistical Process Control (SPC) expertise required
OEE knowledge required.
Six Sigma Black-Belt Certification preferred.
