s mission is to make the world a healthier place! Help us achieve our mission by joining the site operations team!

Fitbit°s wearable fitness devices are worn by people across the world, each uploading, wirelessly and automatically, every 15 minutes. Our servers must accept these uploads quickly and use the data to generate a compelling experience (award badges, update leaderboards, notify friends), all while communicating with web browsers, mobile devices and third-party apps.

Sound like an interesting challenge? Then help us take our platform to the next level!

Our production technology stack includes Linux, MySQL, Puppet, HAProxy, Java, and Python. We use tools like check_mk, graphite and pagerduty to give us insight into the system and produce actionable alerts. We practice a form of scrum, and are quickly closing in on continuous delivery.

We°re looking for people with experience scaling web sites; who live and breathe Linux; who understand the value of thorough monitoring; and who believe in our mission.

Here°s some of what you°ll have to look forward to in 2013 as we evolve our platform:
• Finding new ways to efficiently store and process all our customer data
• Finding new ways to efficiently store and visualize all our system, business and application data
• Taking our infrastructure and deployment automation to a higher plane
• Planning our capacity needs based on manufacturing and sales projections
• Prototyping, building and deploying features in collaboration with developers

You will report to the Director of Site Engineering and Operations, and participate in our cross-functional sprint teams° scrums and planning sessions.

We expect you have experience with most of the tools we use, or similar tools, and some alternatives we don°t yet use. From day one, we expect you to be an effective, pragmatic advocate for constant improvement, whether that means shoring up the tools we have, or switching to better tools.

We offer highly competitive salary plus equity, 3 weeks of PTO, a genuine work/life balance, and company-wide camaraderie that includes catered lunches and happy hours.
