The Site Operations Manager will supervise and manage the day to
day running of the Cedar Wind Farm, located near Limon, CO,
Responsibilities: Support the Asset Manager in achieving the
strategic plans and objectives relating to the generation assets of
the Cedar Point Wind Farm.
Management of the safe and reliable operation and maintenance
of the generation assets, in accordance with agreed operating plans
Ongoing investigation and analysis of asset performance,
identifying opportunities to reduce downtime and maximize
Produce routine O&M reports.
Review invoices and advise the Asset Manager of short to medium
term forecasted costs and changes in spend against
Manage operational aspects of power purchase
On-site safety, security and environmental management and
Lead and attend regular weekly site safety meetings.
Report regular and on time safety and environmental issues to
Complete site audits and inspections for safety and
Complete annual sub-contractor safety audits.
Manage on-site subcontracts.
Advance planning and control of site activities, Controlled
Works and visits.
Daily monitoring and analysis of the performance of the
Work with construction teams during final phases of
construction to takeover and ensure close out of any outstanding
On call on a 24/7 basis to occasionally respond to urgent
Supervise timely park restarts after plant outages /
Work with XCEL and PSCo as required.
Work with maintenance contractors to ensure their safe and
timely intervention to attend to observed faults and
Oversee work on site by contractors, including turbine
maintenance, crane activities, Electrical HV and civil
Schedule and coordinate non-routine plant maintenance and
Work with client, landowner, community, local authority and
Attend regular meetings with turbine and HV contractors to
discuss all O&M issues.
Coordination of scheduled and unscheduled grid
Manage tracking of failures, alarms, downtime, maintenance and
repairs, plant status and trends, and HSQE issues.
Assist with upkeep of databases of faults and
Alert the Asset Manager and Turbine Engineer of emerging
faults, issues, maintenance, or retrofits required.
Work with OEMs and engineering teams in respect of Defect
Notifications and non-warranty investigations.
Regular review, statistical analysis and evaluation of asset
Document the investigation of plant failures and
Identify and appraise plant improvement
Any other tasks as directed by the vice president of
Minimum two to five years of proven industrial experience
including the management of O&M contractors. Wind farm OR
High voltage training and previous switching experience
Expertise and the necessary skills to interface with the public
Minimum five years of Management experience.
Ability to travel.
Current and valid driver license and passport.
Skilled in MSOffice, Outlook, Excel and Access / database.
Self motivated and has the ability to climb wind turbine
BS or degree level education in electrical or mechanical
engineering or other appropriate technical field.
