The Site Supervisor supports safety, operations and sales in the areas of service, sales and management of a site based account. The primary objective is to use their knowledge and expertise to accomplish a safe, successful and profitable operation resulting in a satisfied customer.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (This list is intended to show ongoing primary duties. Employee will be expected to perform other duties as assigned.)
Acts as VES’s main contact with the customer for the resolution of operational issues.
Provide daily supervision over assigned crews, including observation of “on the job" audits, performance appraisals and disciplinary action in accordance with company policies.
Initiates corrective action for any unsafe or environmentally unsound condition. Report situations as per company and customer regulations and procedures.
Ensures work performance is planned and coordinated according to the schedule, with strict adherence to safety, quality and budget considerations.
Monitor morale of personnel on site and strive to maintain a high level and “can do” attitude.
Oversee assignment of personnel and equipment to meet requirements of job.
Conduct safety meetings and investigate incidents and accidents.
Performance evaluation and training of assigned personnel.
Monitor assigned equipment for signs of mechanical problems and work with division management to ensure there are no on-job equipment failures.
Look ahead and coordinate with division office/dispatch/PLM to have adequate manpower and equipment on site as it is needed
Recommend supplies and equipment purchases.
Mentor employee as they progress through their career path.
May require some travel throughout the Western US
GED / High school diploma required.
Minimum of 2.5 or more years work experience in industrial cleaning.
Possess and maintain, as a minimum, CDL Class B or higher with a Tanker Endorsement.
Good computer skills
Communication skills, written and oral.
Strong skills in ‘big picture’ thinking, be able to effectively manage several activities at one time
Ability to read and understand budgets, reports and policies.
Pass a medical and drug test.
Physically capable of performing all duties and responsibilities assigned. Specifically, lift 50 pounds
Ability to work in adverse work conditions, varying from very hot to very cold.
Able to work in very wet environments as well as very dry environments
Physically capable of standing, shoveling and performing other types of physical work for long periods of time.
Capable of working long shifts under adverse conditions (up to 16 hours a day, and up to 14 days in a row).
Ability to safely perform work using high pressure water shotguns (up to 40,000 PSI) with back thrust up to 6o pounds of thrust.
Ability to safely handle up to a 6 inch vacuum hose (with up to 6,500 cubic feet of air moving thru the hose per minute, traveling at speeds of up to 160 MPH).
Medically and physically capable of wearing respirator while performing the above listed work.
100% ability to stay focused on surrounding hazards at all times while performing job requirements in extremely hazardous work environments (i.e. steel mills, power plants, refineries, chemical plants, etc).
