The Slot Technician Trainee position provides the opportunity for one (1) year only to acquire the necessary skills to become a full-time Slot Technician through ongoing evaluation by assigned Technicians and Manager. Learning opportunities include, but not limited to, performing repairs as needed on slot machines and related equipment with an emphasis on customer service. Perform preventative maintenance, modifications, and relocation of slot machines and peripheral devices. Coordinate with the Slot Operations staff to ensure maximum operating efficiency. Promote the company’s goals and values. This position requires performing the job duties throughout the SGC properties as needed. Traveling between or reporting to the other properties is a requirement for this position. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Seneca Gaming Corporation’s and the Departments policies and procedures. This is also to include following all Internal Control Standards and objectives


Position Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment.

Exhibits superior communication skills and the ability to learn on their own.

High School diploma or equivalent GED required.

Associates Degree (or equivalent education) in electronics from a credited school or related work experience in the electronics repair field or must accrue the knowledge successfully completing the training program directed by the SGC within one (1) year of the hire date is required

Ability to perform basic mathematical functions with regard to monetary units and compute slot machines percentages.

Working knowledge of computer software applications and practical usage.

Language Skills and Reasoning Ability:
Must possess excellent communication skills.

Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers.

Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees.

Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

When on the casino floor, the noise levels increase to loud. Must be able to work in an environment where smoking is permitted.

Must be able to stand, walk and move through all areas of the casino.

Must be able to reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; use hands to touch, handle or feel objects, tools or controls.

Must be capable of using various electronic test equipment and power tools.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees and members of the business community in all situations.
