The primary objective of this role is to increase margin for Client’s business. This is accomplished by increasing sales and increasing retention. Position works with in-house resources and channel partners to:
• Create and commercialize new sales propositions that are designed to differentiate Client across all customers or specific customer segments
• Identify and develop new channels to enhance Client’s existing strong channel sales approach
• Ensure operational support for all new initiatives and channels resulting in turnkey launch from ideation to implementation
Position is one of two positions working to drive new proposition and channel development for Client’s Small Business services team.
Accountabilities:
• Create plan, targets, and budget for channel development across Client’s Small Business services team
• Create plan, targets, and budget for proposition development across Client’s Small Business services team
• Meet or exceed annual gross and net margin targets set for new and/or expanded channel sales
• Create differentiated Affinity program that is packaged to multiple affinity targets
• Liaise with Marketing on implementation of marketing initiatives that support Small Business objectives
• Deliver new propositions and channels that have a material impact to Client Business-Small Business’ P&L
• Monetize financial impact of new propositions on existing sales efforts
• Work with and through marketing in developing new aggregation channels and customers
• Develop and manage other new channels that may include, but are not limited to, affinity, multi-level marketing, digital, and partnerships
• Cross Selling - liaise with broader Client businesses to cross sell and cross promote additional offerings to small businesses
• Leverage applicable Client Residential innovation efforts to expand product and proposition concepts into B2B markets
Skills & Qualifications:
• BA or BS degree
• Teambuilding, networking and ability to communicate and drive results with people at all levels
• Knowledge of the gas and/or electricity industry is an asset
• At least 3-5 years of experience developing and managing non-traditional channels
• Experience in leading channel, proposition, or product development efforts from ideation to implementation
• Experience in working within large organizational structure
• Good interpersonal skills, including establishing rapport with vendor/clients through regular contact by phone and in-person
• Strong desire to succeed
• Detail oriented with strong organization and follow-through skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Proven experience in conflict resolution and effective negotiating skills
• Able to work independently, comfortable making rational and reasonable decisions which directly or indirectly impact corporate margin, customer experience and financial liabilities
• Able to demonstrate experience in taking new initiatives from planning to implementation (product, service, channel, proposition, etc.)
