The role of the Content Manager is to support Mercer’s intranet collaboration initiatives with a range of content management (gathering requirements, designing, building and testing web sites that support easy access to content), analytical, and user adoption activities.

Responsibilities to include:

Build and develop intranet sites on SharePoint platform

*
Contribute to the formulation of global content management strategy

*
Gather user requirements and translate them to functional/technical requirements using personas, wireframes and prototypes

Measure and report on the success of collaboration tools on Mercer’s intranet by reviewing and tracking metrics on a regular basis. Compile and communicate results to Mercer’s Intranet Governance Boards

*
Focus on increasing colleague participation on Mercer’s intranet and drive adoption through the engagement of social features, gathering and reviewing feedback, and identifying new opportunities for Mercer’s intranet

Conduct other research, analytical, or project management duties as requested

Qualifications

*

The position requires experience in the following areas:
  • Content Management
  • Knowledge of publishing standards including HTML and XML
  • Required proficiency in web site creation and management
  • Experience developing SharePoint sites
  • Communication
  • Ability to generate enthusiasm and communicate with all levels of organization
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally, in writing and in presentations
  • Social media
  • Understands and has working knowledge of collaboration and social media tools
  • Project management, self-management, and ability to manage up
  • Ability to effectively manage upward including keeping manager appraised of project risks, accomplishments, and action required by manager
  • High degree of self-management; ability to resolve conflicts, hold self accountable, meet deadlines, and provide solutions with minimal oversight, and drive results
  • Effectiveness in influencing a project based team of individuals (through matrix relationships) to execute in a timely manner
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Ability to create detailed time-phased project plans with limited oversight
  • Quality deliverables
  • Ability to define deliverables and provide frequent updates, resulting in high quality work product
  • Strong capability to deliver C-suite ready work product with limited guidance
  • Skilled in taking complex ideas and creating frameworks and other approaches to clearly communicate ideas and gain support

  • Thoughtful quantitative skills, including ability to clean, combine, and analyze data
  • Ability to ‘look beyond the numbers’ to cull out meaningful insights; using data to tell a story and gain support
  • Cross-functional and business partnering
  • Ability to navigate a matrix organization and create deep working relationships across functional, geographic, and line of business boundaries
  • Experience navigating detailed functional processes (e.g. IT, legal, finance, marketing) in a complex environment
  • Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Microsoft SharePoint
  • Familiarity with collaboration tools (i.e. communities, forums, blogs, wikis, etc.)
  • 3-5 years of experience as a web designer/content manager
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
