PSI seeks candidates for the position of Social Franchise Intern to support the Social Franchise team within the Global Social Marketing Department. The Intern position requires flexibility and willingness to assume varied roles and responsibilities. This internship position is based in Washington, D.C. and reports to the Senior Social Franchise Technical Advisor. This is a paid position. The ideal candidate will work 30-40 hours per week. This position is open for a 3-month contract with the possibility of extending based on performance.
The intern will support the Social Franchise team in meeting their Strategic Plan objectives by helping to develop and maintain tools and resources for PSI's staff worldwide. He/she will also assist with communications, training workshops, report writing, and various administrative tasks.
The ideal candidate will have keen attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and strong computer skills. It is essential that he/she be able to prioritize and perform multiple tasks, while working with minimal supervision and following through on assignments.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Developing and executing an internal social franchising communication strategy
Developing and executing an external social franchising communication strategy
Creating social franchise training tools (workshop development, online modules, etc.)
Organizing logistics for an international social franchise conference
Assisting overseas staff with presentation preparation for international conference
Write and compile international communications, including a monthly social franchising report and newsletter or blog
Upload, organize and maintain the content on the department's intranet and workspace
Edit, format and archive reports and briefs with great attention to detail
Develop and maintain database of franchise outputs and produce monthly reports
Some administrative duties as required such as taking minutes, maintaining calendars, printing and mailing reports, event and schedule planning, assembling materials for meetings and trainings
Undergraduate or graduate student studying Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field
Ability to synthesize and summarize information from a variety of sources
High proficiency in computer applications: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Web language experience preferred, but not required (HTML)
Excellent analytical and writing skills
Excellent communication skills
Strong time management skills
Ability to work independently
French or Spanish a plus
Instructional Design skills a plus
