We are looking for a Social Media Intern to get in on the ground floor to help establish an interactive corporate intranet site that focuses on employee communication and engagement. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated intern who is skilled in social and digital media concepts and has the necessary background to be hands-on in writing, interviewing associates for content, producing material and ensuring content represents our brand. This is an extraordinary opportunity to write, work in new media and gain insight into the retail industry. In addition, this associate will help to develop and implement a communication strategy for the relocation of our corporate headquarters.

The ideal candidate will be able to work in our office located in Suffern, NY one or two days per week and independently from a remote location of his or her preference. Hours are part-time with some opportunity to flex-up as needed. Some communication is handled via email/skype. Candidate should be an excellent writer, a self-starter capable of handling a variety of tasks and interacting with all levels of the organization.

This is a paid internship and we're looking for those interested in building their portfolios/resumes and realizing their creative potential for our new online tool.

    • Strong Communication Skills: you must write and speak clearly, and be available via email M-F. There may be an opportunity for this position to work remotely
    • Creative Writing: You'll need to interview employees at all levels, including executives, and then utilize the dressbarn voice to create blog entries and project updates
    • Dedicated Commitment: you must be willing to make a 6 month minimum commitment to the site and reliably meet weekly/monthly deadlines.
