We are currently
seeking a Software Controls Engineer for our Rosenberg, Texas facility. This position will primarily be responsible
for understanding commonly used drafting symbols found on industrial electrical
control panel wiring and construction drawings. Experience and understanding of
commonly used industrial machinery, knowledge of reciprocating/screw
compressors utilizing industrial (gas and diesel) engines and/or industrial
electric motors is desirable. Must be
able to read functional layout/wiring diagrams and comprehend a control panel
theory of operations while writing PLC programs. Candidate should be familiar
with at least one of the following manufacturer’s hardware product lines and
associated proprietary programming software: Allen-Bradley, Siemens, GE-Fanuc, or
Modicon. Working knowledge of ISaGRAF, CoDeSys (IEC-1131-3) or ANSI-C is
desirable, but not required. Proficiency
with the application of commonly used industrial communications protocols (Ethernet,
Modbus) and their implementation through various media (physical layer) is a
requirement. Read and understand customer/end-user specifications and apply
them using best practices of control panel design. Familiarity with industrial standards (NEC,
IEC, ISA, UL, CSA, API, ANSI) and their association with hazardous location
terms and controls practices is desired. Test and emulate control panel software/hardware via full functional
simulation using meters, lights, switches, etc. Conduct Factory Acceptance
Tests (FAT) in the presence of the customers, including a full functional
demonstration and oration of the control panel’s features and capabilities per
a theory of operation.
Additionally, knowledge of Natural Gas Compression
Industry, experience with Hazardous Locations – Class 1 Div. 1 and Class 1 Div.
2 Areas, familiarity with NEC Codes 2011, ability to read P&ID (Piping and
Instrumentation Diagrams), understanding Cause and Effect Diagrams, proficiency
with Microsoft Office – Word and Excel.

Educational Requirements : Bachelor’s degree in
Electrical Engineering / Electrical Engineering Technology OR related technical
vocational training with extended experience of at least 5 years.
