Heartland Payment Systems is seeking an entry level software developer to join our Payment Portal Services development team. The candidate must possess a good understanding of development frameworks and provide daily contribution to the team. The person in this position is responsible for writing code, reviewing code, writing unit tests, engaging in agile software development processes, and other project tasks as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Analyzing user requirements.
Researching, designing and writing new software programs.
Testing new programs and fault finding.
Developing existing programs by analyzing and identifying areas for modification.
Investigating new technologies.
Creating technical specifications and test plans.
Working with high level computer coding languages.
Assisting in writing operational documentation with technical authors.
Working closely with other staff, such as project managers, graphic artists, designers, developers, systems analysts, testers, and sales and marketing professionals.
Consulting clients/colleagues concerning the maintenance and performance of software systems and asking questions to obtain information clarify details and implement information.
Continually updating technical knowledge and skills by attending in-house and/or external courses, reading manuals and accessing new applications.
Occasional travel may be required.
Education and/or Experience
B.S. Computer Science or Computer/Software/Electrical Engineering
Experience with C#, ASP.NET and SQL Server or other relational databases desirable.
