The stuff you'll do:
Manage a team of 8 software development engineers who are focused on creating internal & external APIs, creating, updating and upgrading software code

Lead a software development team of 10 software engineers to build new products and services for the company

Engage with contracted engineers and vendors as necessary to complete specific development projects on time and to budget

Ensure execution of SDLC project flow for the Engineering delivery organization

Utilize 8+ years of experience managing software development projects, with a focus on SCRUM/Agile project management methodology

Conduct code reviews, with a focus on the following languages: PHP, Perl, Python, Java, Javascript, CSS3 and HTML5

Highlight bottlenecks to the Director of Backend Services for executive escalation to ensure adequate resourcing

Ensure that resources are being allocated to Engineering-Product Front Door Process to ensure that projects are completed on time and on budget

Work with the Software Product Manager to ensure that project scoping, ROI, timeframes, UML, use cases, and delivery are executed according to the SDLC

Obtain infrastructure necessary to build development and production environments for all software creation needs

Ensure that all code is documented and archived correctly as needed

Ensure that operationalization of product enhancements (training, documentation, monitoring) is handed off accurately and completely to the Live Ops Department (NOC)

Build operations and training materials in support of API development

Integrate with outside vendors using APIs. Develop APIs for external and internal integration with backend systems.

The stuff you need:
8+ years experience developing and managing large-scale software development teams and products for major players in any of the following industries: Web Hosting/IaaS, SaaS, telecommunications, satellite, broadband

Strong systems and network security awareness

Formal education in CS/CE (BS or MS) is require

Configuration management, version control, continuous integration:

Puppet, Subversion, Git, Jenkins

Scripting / data manipulation: Perl, Bash, Ruby, Python, Awk, PHP, etc.
