This role requires a thorough knowledge of what it takes to develop scalable, extensible technology, as well as how to structure and develop organizations. A successful candidate for this role will be clearly passionate about software development and team leadership. You will ensure that engineering best practices are followed and that software is designed to be highly available and durable. You will own the goals and roadmap of your engineering team and will have a major stake in the strategic direction of your software. You will have excellent technical skills and knowledge coupled with strong leadership, planning, and management abilities. You will have demonstrated your ability to thrive and succeed in delivering high quality solutions in a hyper-growth environment where priorities shift fast.
10+ years of experience in software development and 4+ years as a Development Manager responsible for 5 or more engineers
5+ Years Hands-On Development Experience
Experience with Object Oriented Design, Development Frameworks, and Web Services
Ability to work well with people and be both highly motivated and motivating
BS in Computer Science or equivalent
Strong analytical skills with excellent problem solving abilities
Strong technical vision. Ability to look around corners and anticipate the needs of the business years out into the future
Strong record leading teams that execute on commitments and deliver value to the organization.
Strong presentation and leadership skills
Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Experience managing projects and teams in an Agile environment
Experience with high-volume web-based applications
