Software Engineer, Mission and Launch Applications
T-Minus 2 minutes to launch: “Falcon 9 Final GO for Launch”
As a software engineer on this team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the application that controls our process flow for auto-launch sequences. This is a mission critical application used throughout SpaceX for all launches and major test sequences. In short, your application will play a major role in sending rockets to space.
We are an organizationally flat group of a couple dozen software engineers. Although we work on and support critical systems, you wouldn't know it from observing our office. When it comes to code we are unrelentingly meticulous and thorough, but when it comes to people we are big on open communication, flexible hours, and a casual work environment.
Required Skills and Experience:
Fundamentals are critical at SpaceX; a college degree in an engineering field and/or strong knowledge of computer science first principles is required
Must be capable of operating independently with limited direction; we expect this candidate will have at least a few years of experience under their belt but we have been surprised by talented new grads so we always try to keep an open mind
Must have strong evidence of exceptional ability; don’t just tell us what you have done, tell us what you have done that is exceptional
