Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector is seeking a Software Engineer Level 2 to join our

team of talented, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Orlando, FL.

The qualified applicant will become part of a Northrop Grumman team focused on mission critical

communication gateways, voice and data communications, networks, and radio systems. We are

seeking a skilled engineer with experience in C,C++,C# software development. Must be capable of

working as a member of a team and adhere to a configuration management process. Have an

understanding of object-oriented design and programming. Able to generate documentation by

contributing technical material. Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical

groups to ensure implementation is understood. The individual must be comfortable with working in

a team-focused, collaborative environment and participate in all tasks relating to software

design, implementation, integration and testing. This position requires a self-starter who is

able to self-manage based on what the project team identifies as priorities and flexible enough

to succeed in a dynamically changing workscape. The applicant must also have excellent

communication and collaborative skills.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Developing code using CC++C# for mission critical system
  • Developing code to integrate into software components within communication and crypto systems
  • Creation and execution of test cases using the principle of Test Driven Development (TDD) and
Traffic Generators

  • Working closely with other project team members during a typical software development life
cycle, providing supporting documentation or screen mock-ups as required


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related engineering

  • Minimum of 2 year experience in computer science or related field with Bachelors; Minimum of 0
years experience with Masters

  • Direct experience with developing code using C\C++\C#
  • Direct experience with data structures and complex analysis
  • Direct experience in Linux Operating System
  • Proficient in Windows Operating Systems
  • Proficient in Networking basics
  • Capable of system troubleshooting, identifying and resolving software issues
  • Capable of working to System Requirements
  • Capable of working individually or in a group environment
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and be detail-oriented
  • Strong verbal and writing skills; able to contribute to documentation/guidelines/test cases
  • Experienced with test plans and unit/integration test phase of life-cycle.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Red Hat Linux experience; a plus
  • Experience coding in a multi-threaded environment; POSIX threads a plus
  • Direct experience with SQL Server or equivalent DB
  • Experience with SNMPv3 protocol
  • Experience with VoIP signaling protocols
  • Network Socket programming experience
  • Familiar with Scripting; Python, Perl, Bash
  • Experience with UDP/IP and TCP/IP protocols
  • Experience with router protocols and communications
  • Experience with VoIP traffic generators
  • Experience with SNMP Agent and Manager development
  • Familiar with QoS and handling DSCP marking for IP
  • Experience with military voice, communication, and crypto systems
  • Experience in the field of technical writing
  • Experience with automated testing tools
  • Experience in a DoD development environment
  • Current clearance at Secret or higher
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite: Project, Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint
