Designs, develops and supports software for a DOCSIS compliant, high availability network router. Responsible for implementing software according to industry standard specifications and market based requirements.
Works on implementation, maintenance and/or tools
throughout the product delivery phase.
Involved in the evaluation, identification and analysis of technical factors.
Accurately estimates team and individual task completion and achieves task completion on
time. Immediately communicates changes in schedules.
Implement software in C and C++ under VxWorks environment and tools on Unix or Windows.
May implement software to support redundant hardware configurations on PowerPC or
MIPS based platforms.
Provide layered OS services compatible with multiple RTOS's.
May Implement drivers for Broadcom Docsis chipsets, file system devices, Ethernet
devices, I2C devices, and general purpose FPGA's
May implement and debug TCP stacks and routing protocols
Find innovative ways to improve quality, timeliness and efficiency of deliverables
Resolve defects and provide regular status updates for defects
Monitor business trends, customer requirements and white papers
Formal Education: BS Computer Science or equivalent experience
Experience (type & duration): 0-3 years of embedded real-time using C or C++ or equivalent course work

telephony/broadband/video concepts and services as well as the direction in which the industry is moving.

3. Ability to understand how operators use product in the field.
