Sapphire Verification Tool – Network Communications

Position Purpose:
This position is in the area of Software Product Development for the Life Care Solutions business. The successful candidate will develop communication software for real time patient monitoring applications for new product development. The work involves software design, coding and unit testing in a gcc and Visual C++ environment.

Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
The software development engineer will be responsible for:
•Design of network communication software using Object Oriented methodologies
•Implementation of the software design in C++ and C language
•Development of network communication simulation verification tools
•Development and execution of software unit tests
•Active participation in feature integration and integration testing
•Work with cross-functional teams and experienced engineers to research, design, develop, build and test connectivity software in new medical products

Qualifications/Requirements: (Basic Qualifications):
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related experience
•Two or more years of software work experience
•Work experience and/or coursework utilizing MS Windows and C++ and /or C
•Object Oriented Design experience
•Exceptional organizational, problem solving and detail orientation skills
•Strong interpersonal skills are needed along with the ability to work well in a team environment

Desired: (Desired Characteristics)
•Experience in network programming.
oWorking with networked devices
oWorking with network sniffers
oSocket programming
•Experience using XML and Schema.
•Experience in developing real-time embedded software systems
•Work experience and/or coursework in Java
•Experience and/or course work utilizing Unified Modeling Language (UML)
•Experience with software and requirements management and process tools
•Excellent verbal and written documentation skills
•Familiarity with Modern Design Patterns and Agile development techniques
•Experience working on products in a regulated environment.
