Current environments include: ColdFusion, LAMP, Tomcat, CommonSpot and Static. CIT Hosting provides service for over 1,000 campus websites.

Primary responsibilities include software installation/updates, configuration and management thereof. Additional duties include participation in integration of Cornell infrastructure components such as authentication, authorization services, identities, web services and messaging into vendor/open source software packages. Once application stacks are in production use, the service support team will periodically escalate to this position for tier-3 support (24x7 on-call support responsibilities for this position exist but will be infrequent, and not on a set schedule). Work requires the ability to work with regulated and University confidential data with discretion and in accordance with University policy.

In the area of Hosting, this position also includes:
Leading cloud hosting vendor reviews, creating test sites/installs in cloud hosting solutions and testing, reporting back findings.

Responding to customer special hosting configuration requests through a for-fee service.

Consulting with campus partners on various on and off campus solutions.

Partnering with central IT's Systems, Web Services and Cloud support teams as needed.

Following established web security best practices.

Following established IT change management processes for any updates.

This position will also have a dual responsibility to help serve our Custom Code Troubleshooting for-fee service for campus along with assisting the other Custom Development teams as assigned (Integrated Web Services and Custom Applications).

The person in this role will need to gain and maintain an understanding of all “web” related services central IT offers (from hosting to development and support). Having this understanding will help in our efforts to make all things “web and hosting” more streamlined for campus customers.
