The software engineer is responsible for working with the project managers and software development managers to develop new software according to established project plans, implement new features in existing software, and fix bugs or other software defects.
  • Works with Project Management and Stakeholders on application design and development.
  • Develops applications, web-based software, components and services using PHP, HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
  • Works closely with Project Management, QA and development teams to drive projects through to completion.
  • BS degree in Computer Science or Information Systems preferred - but we encourage all candidates that show significant depth of knowledge and experience to apply.
  • Requires at least 2 years of hands-on experience working with PHP, HTML, CSS, and Javascript
  • Understanding of the principles of Object-Oriented Programming and design.
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures for full software development life cycle
  • Must be able to rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the job functions
  • Must be able to work independently and efficiently within a fast paced, team-oriented environment
Front-end Developer
  • Complete fluency in HTML and CSS, preferably including the latest in HTML5 and CSS3 techniques
  • Strong knowledge of Javascript, including Object-Oriented Javascript development
  • Familiarity with jQuery and/or similar Javascript frameworks
  • Strong attention to visual detail
  • Understanding of basic usability principles and guidelines
Back-end Developer
  • Complete fluency in PHP5
  • Strong understanding of MySQL and basic relational database concepts
  • Familiarity with Java, C++, or Objective-C
  • Understanding of web services, SOAP, REST, and XML
  • Familiarity with Apache Lucene, Solr, or related indexing technologies (optional but desired)
Mobile Developer

  • Fluency in Objective-C programming for iOS and Java programming for Android
  • Understanding of web services, SOAP, REST, and XML
  • Understanding of HTML5 and Javascript for mobile web app development
  • Strong attention to visual detail
  • Understanding of basic usability principles and guidelines
Big Data Developer

  • Complete fluency in PHP5 and/or Java
  • Basic knowledge of Javascript
  • At least 2 years experience in Map Reduce and ability to write sequence (chaining) of Map reduce jobs to solve a problem
  • At least 2 years experience in one or more of HBase, Cassandra, or Dynamo.
  • Ability to design columnar data stores
  • Experience with implementation of content recommendation engines (ie, Mahout) and data mining
