Job Description:
Workforce Software is experiencing tremendous growth and
is expanding all departments including the addition of a
Software Engineer for Java development in our Livonia
office. Be part of our world-class team as we continue
to develop web-based enterprise workforce management
applications for our customers throughout North America.
At Workforce Software you’ll be part of the growing 45
person software development team that uses the latest
Java technologies, tools, and software development
processes. Our high expectations are balanced with an
informal work environment and flexible work hours. The
ideal candidate will have strong Java design
skills/experience and quickly become a key team member
to re-architect and develop Workforce Software’s newest
product line.
Architectural design work
Hands-on development and testing
Mentoring staff, code reviews, and writing technical
documentation
Job Requirements:
Experience developing large-scale applications
2-5 years hands-on Java development (or equivalent
C++ or C# experience)
Familiar with SQL, application servers, and servlets
Strong computer science fundamentals including
advanced data structures, algorithms, and
multi-threading
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Four-year Computer Science degree, or equivalent
OTHER DESIRED SKILLS
Experience designing and testing systems with large
data throughput and capacity needs
Experience troubleshooting performance related
issues on medium to large scale projects
Advanced degree in Computer Science
Knowledge of Tomcat or WebSphere application servers
Experience with HTML, JSP, and Perl
Knowledge of Struts or Velocity Apache projects
Experience in both Linux and Windows environments
deploying Java systems
