Key Accountabilities


10% - People Management

Share & train Software Owners in relation to the Software Management Process

90% Administration

Provide technical support and maintenance for Asset Management tool set

Provide expertise and training in Asset Management tool set

Software Compliance and Consultancy, ensuring the Bank maintains a compliant software position

Establish relationships with key stakeholders, to raise the profile of the Software Asset Management vision and ensure they capture our requirements within their processes.

Identify surplus licences and re-distribute

Ensure software utilisation is maximised, delivering significant financial benefit to the business.

Contribute to the development of a central repository and to ensure the tool and processes behind it are fit for purpose.

Be a recognised point of contact for Software Asset Management related queries from Projects and other key stakeholders.

Provide technical support and maintenance for Asset Management tool set

Provide expertise and training in the Asset Management tool set

Reconciliation desktop and server vendors to deliver a software compliance position for these vendors

Support global projects to manage procurement of licences and ensure correct procedures are followed

Provide adherence reporting

Reconcile & remediate GAPS between our software license list and our software discovery tool with Software Managers


Technical knowledge

Internal and External IT Environment

Understands the inter-relationship of software, hardware and communications

Basic understanding of the internal and external environment:
Can describe the major roles and responsibilities of the IT function

Can identify key activities performed by IT professionals and managers and key departments/functions

Can identify and interpret key policies, standards and procedures affecting own area

Understands the basic concepts and benefits of the technology strategy

Aware of new information technology platforms and technologies

Can discuss specific technology application opportunities in own area

Strong Microsoft Office proficiency (Primarily Excel, Power Point & Access)

Knowledge of Crystal Reports is plus

Understanding of ITIL disciplines

Business Knowledge

Can describe basic concepts of a business function or product

3-5 years Software Management Experience

Familiar with relevance of technology for that business, function or product

Can identify applications/components that support that business

Aware of how that product fits in with the banks strategy
