ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
This individual is responsible for testing a wide variety of business process applications for monitoring, administrating, and reporting against business-critical applications in the telecommunications industry. Will work closely with functional analysts, development staff, and end users to fully understand product requirements and to deliver quality products.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Active participation in review of software life cycle deliverables, including functional specification and design documentation.
Generate Test Strategy and Test Plan documentation.
Execute test cases for web-based GUIs, Unix batch processing environments, and a wide variety of SQL query-based reports and data presentation applications.
Unix shell scripting and test case execution.
Install and setup test environment, have knowledge in identify performance (CPU, Memory) issues.
SQL query results verification.
Test automation using QTP or Selenium/other testing framework.
Follow corporate policies and procedures.
Other functions as required.
Knowledge & Skills:
Solid test methodology skills and practices.
Very capable SQL query skills.
Solid UNIX Scripting abilities and very comfortable and knowledgeable of UNIX batch execution environments.
Action Request System (BMC Remedy) knowledge.
Quality orientation with a strong eye for detail.
Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills.
Display high levels of self-motivation.
Experience & Other Requirements:
Bachelor Degree minimum
Minimum 3 years experience in UNIX and SQL processing environments
Experience developing and executing test scripts for telephony applications
