Location for this position is flexible, but reqired to be the SouthWest.

The SunEdison Solar Asset Manager knows the business of solar operations inside and out, backwards and forwards, from contract to wiring, from both a financial and technical perspective with a view to the bottom-line performance. The ideal candidate will be very detailed oriented, interested in the technical details of what makes the asset operate in the field and equally adept and translating that performance into financial performance. The asset manager will manage the assets and the contracts that govern those assets. This position requires competence in the field and in the office, speaking with technicians and translating that to the financial owners.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Asset Production (kWh):
Harvest photovoltaic energy at the most efficient cost by maximizing production against expenses

Work with operations center and field technicians to understand particular operational issues of individual plants

Evaluate solutions with a critical eye to efficiency versus expediency

Be able to articulate why plants are over or underperforming against expectations

Track guarantees and other contractual obligations with counterparties

Financial Management:
Prepare annual budgets; review financial statements

Manage the P&L of the plant as necessary. Interact regularly with accounting and finance to ensure accurate financials

Manage and negotiate with associated vendors, as necessary

Asset Maintenance:
Keep track of all maintenance issues, prioritizing them and managing them

Working with the larger teams to develop efficient maintenance strategies across various portfolios

Compliance:
Solar plants are created and managed by various contracts

Proactively understanding the contracts and how they relate and impact each other

Ensure compliance with the various obligations in the documents

Interact with and engage legal teams as needed for compliance related issues

Flagg missed opportunities or organizational efficiencies that can be gained

Work within framework for legal improvement of contract creation

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent

Minimum of 5 years of experience in asset management, project controls, scheduling, real estate, accounting, finance, contracts development and administration

Key skills include energy concepts, financial analysis, basic knowledge of construction, electrical concepts, contract management, strong organization, and prioritization

Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential

Proficiency in MS office

Detail oriented, ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, extremely professional, and customer service oriented
