The salary for this position is $23,750 - $41,671.
The Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD), serving approximately 42,000 students in grades Pre-K-12, in January 2010 announced the launch of the most far-reaching transformation plan in its history to dramatically improve the quality of educational programs for CMSDs students. An important key to the success of the Districts plan is the ongoing services provided through Multilingual / Multicultural Education.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works directly with the Assessment Specialist on the assessment and registration of language minority students on site Maintains and updates pupil data files and log of student registration/assessment by school, language, composite and language codes Maintains and enter student data information on the computer Assists with the distribution of school records, student assignment information, transcripts and immunization records Respond to limited English proficient parents and the public on site and/or by telephone, taking accurate and complete messages and process parent concerns providing excellent and timely customer service Assist staff, school level personnel, students and parents with the resolution of problems related to school assignments and school related matters Assists with school and central office related matters regarding student registrations Assists with preparation of state and district reports regarding second language learner enrollment Assists in the coordination of customer/client services to multilingual families Assists with the translation of brochures and fliers, and disseminates to schools Processes Words and Excel documents to produce a variety of materials including charts, letters, forms, and reports to parents and interprets district information as needed. Drafts routine letters and memoranda Performs other related duties as requested by the Supervisor
Associated Degree or Bachelor Degree in Office management or related field Three years successful office experience; procedures/bookkeeping, keyboarding, office equipment operation, maintenance, business machines & computer software programs. Bilingual oral and written communication skills (English & Spanish) Ability to make decisions with minimal supervision, and must be accurate, efficient and capable of handling detailed work assignments. Strong Word and Excel processing skills required. Working knowledge of office automation Excellent organizational, communication and customer service skills Experience in working with other professionals in an educational setting.
