Solutions Analyst. Our client has a need for 2 Solutions Analysts in Columbus, Ohio for a contract opportunity. The Solutions Analyst brings a cross-disciplinary approach to solving business problems and plays an extremely critical role in providing strategic business solutions. This position requires that he or she has strong command of current IT trends and technologies and is highly skilled in determining how best to apply technology in support of the the firm's strategic direction. This person also participates in developing IT technology roadmaps and researching off-the-shelf opportunities.
In this role, the BA leads engagement with the business and engineering teams identifying business issues, conducting analysis, and partnering with the business and IT to define solutions. This person helps implement technology change, leading the business beyond immediate requests into a solution strategy. The idea candidate will be an expert communicator who uses tools such as Visio and PowerPoint to communicate powerful, thoughtful, and meaningful information.
Serve as a primary IT contact and technical liaison for member servicing projects.
Ensure that technology decisions help the firm's Business Units meet their strategic, operational, and economic goals.
Work effectively at all levels of Business Units engaged in member servicing projects senior executives, business managers, engineering teams, and testing teams.
Advise and mentor business partners on the use of new technologies and solution design techniques.
Develop and maximize an in-depth knowledge of systems, applications, business processes, and operations for effective exploitation in member servicing projects.
Research and evaluate alternative solutions for their business impact and create proposals to meet business needs.
Create quality deliverables that exemplify business requirements in various forms such as use cases, wire-frames/straw-models, data elements & events, etc.
Participate in functional and technical reviews to insure design decisions are being made in alignment with business strategies and opportunities.
Identify duplication of processes and help eliminate them.
Collaborate with IT delivery managers to manage scope and expectations, including change management and documentation.
Share business strategies and vision with IT department at large, promoting creativity and innovation.
Bachelors Degree in computer science, MIS, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 4 years related experience in business and systems analysis, preferably with a technology company, IT consulting firm or high-performing corporate IT department.
Experience in creating solutions for large-scale projects or implementations.
Personal qualities: innovation, resourcefulness, tenacity, independence, energy, and self-confidence.
Demonstrated ability to learn business process and operations and apply technical solutions.
Excellent analytical, problem solving skills, and an aptitude for numbers is important.
Ability to work effectively with a broad range of internal and external customers.
Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize Word, Visio, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously
Travel as necessary
