Supports the implementation of purchasing strategies aiming for the lowest prices for all raw materials and services. Leverages effective negotiation skills and contract implementation to optimize value for the plant. Insures timely delivery of parts in support of production needs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Establish competitive low-cost sources for component parts.

Collect, manage, analyze, and report timely and reliable sourcing data. Help develop business strategy for purchased components as well as blanket contracts.

Drive cost reduction / productivity programs consistent with the objectives set forth by the division.

Responsible for assigned commodities or product line tactical purchasing, maintaining alignment with and accordance to current division and corporate operation standards, practices and certifications e.g. ISO9000, etc.

Ensure optimum supplier performance through a formal supplier performance evaluation process.

Ensure compliance with plant, division and corporate requirements i.e. freight routing, use of corporate approved suppliers, payment terms, etc.

Compliance with the 4 I's Innovation, Integrity, Innovation & Intensity.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
BA or BS in related field with 3-5 years experience in a sourcing role

Strong verbal and written skills

Project management, interpersonal, change management and customer relations expertise.

Ability to follow through on tasks to on time completion.

High degree of initiative as a self-starter.

Advanced knowledge of supplier's manufacturing processes, industry experience and knowledge of product cost drivers.

Knowledge of Microsoft, ERP and MRP software applications.

APICs certification is preferred.

Documented negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.

Ability to understand and manage changes at suppliers, commodity markets, and technology that may affect the commodities purchased and opportunities to improve overall costs.
