-Operate, Maintain, and Test the Training Simulator.
-Revise simulator software code and models on an as-needed basis to improve performance and resolve differences between plant and simulator response (software specialist only).
-Monitor and track simulator deficiencies.
-Develop work packages and work plans to resolve simulator deficiencies.
-Develop test plans and documents to ensure simulator performance adheres to industry standards and federal guidelines.
-Identify and resolve simulator problems: troubleshoot simulator software and hardware problems; identify causes; develop repair plans; acquire spare parts and supplies; perform work; test repairs to ensure success.
-Make physical repairs and modifications to simulator hardware.
Reports to: Supt, Simulator & Training Support - Site
-6 years commercial or military nuclear experience.
-B.S. degree in Information Technology, Engineering or related technical degree, or prior on-the-job experience as an Operator, Instrument & Controls Technician or IT Technician.
-Broad and comprehensive understanding of integrated plant operations, or the capability to acquire this knowledge rapidly.
-Technical proficiency in the assigned area of hardware or software.
-Proven ability to work efficiently and effectively with instructors and operations management with a minimum of direct supervision.
-Detail oriented and excellent organizational skills.
-Advanced knowledge of computer code development (software technician only).
- At least 5 years experience in operations, training, or maintenance.
-SRO certification or license on BWR or PWR.
-Proficiency with current computer business applications.
