The mission of KIPP Delta Public Schools is to create and support schools that empower students from underserved communities to develop the knowledge, skills, and character traits necessary to pursue a college education and a life of value, joy, and integrity.
We are a growing network of public schools offering a free, college-preparatory education to children in the Arkansas Delta. Across our four schools in Helena and Blytheville, we currently serve over 1,120 students and 80 alumni.
The Special Education Manager will work to ensure that all students receiving Special Education services learn, grow, and achieve transformative life outcomes; additionally, the Special Education Manager will work to ensure that all of our Special Education services are delivered in a manner that is 100% compliant with state and federal regulations.
The Special Education Manager will primarily support our three schools in Helena, AR: KIPP Delta Elementary Literacy Academy (Pre-K through 4
grade), KIPP Delta College Preparatory Schools (5
grade), and KIPP Delta Collegiate High School (9
grade). In this role, the Special Education Manager will coach Special Education teachers, facilitate Special Education professional development for all educators, and work directly to ensure 100% compliance with state and federal regulations.
The Special Education Manager will report directly to the Director of Special Education.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the implementation of Special Education services across our three schools in Helena:
Participate in the collaborative development of a long-term plan for Special Education services and coordinate its implementation
Ensure 100% compliance with state and federal regulations, both completing and delegating tasks as appropriate
Develop and ensure adherence to school-level procedures for the provision of all Special Education services
Coach and support teachers to better meet the needs of students receiving an IEP across our three schools in Helena:
Observe teachers and provide feedback that leads to improved instruction and better outcomes for students receiving an IEP
Facilitate collaboration amongst Special Education teachers and general educators to better meet the needs of all learners
Develop and ensure adherence to school-level progress monitoring systems for all students receiving an IEP
Lead teachers in the use of data to regularly adjust the specific support provided for each student receiving an IEP
Lead the Special Education professional development for teachers and school leadership across our three schools in Helena:
Plan an annual professional development calendar for all educators in the realm of Special Education Services
Design and facilitate professional development, while also arranging for others to lead or attend PD as needed
Develop Special Education teachers towards continuous improvement in the process of writing and revising IEPs
A Special Education Manager candidate must possess:
A Bachelor’s degree
Demonstrated success as a Special Education teacher
Licensure and/or a degree in the realm of Special Education services
The ability to receive and act upon adjusting feedback
Unwavering belief in and passion for the mission of KIPP Delta Public Schools
A commitment to continually developing the character strengths of

A Special Education Manager candidate will ideally possess:
Demonstrated success in achieving results through the management of others
Experience providing instructional coaching to other educators
