Special Education School Teacher
Junior Blind's Special Education School provides the best possible services to its students. Our non-public special education school is an individualized, non-academic school for students, ages 3 through 21, who are multi-disabled and blind or visually impaired.
As the Special Education School Teacher you will implement an individualized, comprehensive program based on the Critical Skills Model while focusing on the student's development of compensatory skills and self-esteem. You will participate in educational assessment by using selected tools and by involving parents, designated instructional service team members, and other relevant individuals. You will develop students' Individualized Education Programs (IEP) with the assessment team based on assessment findings and priorities identified by parents.
In addition, you will also be responsible for providing instructional activities which are age-appropriate, functional, motivating and which reflect IEP goals. You will provide diverse learning opportunities such as community-based instruction, daily living skills, arts and crafts, music and movement, vocational, social integration, swimming and recreational activities.
