Job Classification: Full-time, salaried position
Masters degree or higher in the field of Special Education for an accredited university program.
Three plus years of experience in the field of special education.
Holds a teaching license, credential or permit from one of the 50 US states.
Administrative credential in special education, a plus.
Able to develop programs for the unique needs of the students and in line with cultural and social mores of the setting.
Able to work with diverse population of teaching staff, parents, and students.
Good oral communication skills
Able to train staff and parents in how to meet the unique needs of the students.
Good written skills.
Able to work with translators, as required, in sessions for non-English speaking parents.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide effective, dynamic and inspirational leadership at a special education school site in order that every student is able to fulfill their potential.
Lead and manage the school site.
Develop programs that meet with unique cultural, educational and developmental needs of the students enrolled at the school site and ensure the achievement of excellent educational standards.
Develop written materials for communicating with parents and teachers.
Oversee additional curriculum development.
Promote and safeguard the welfare of the students.
Ensure the achievement of excellent educational standards at the school.
