Inova Kellar Center is a not ‐ for ‐ profit comprehensive behavioral health outpatient program located in Fairfax, Virginia that serves children, adolescents, adults and their families. A full continuum of mental health and substance use disorder treatment services are provided by physicians and mental health professionals. The Center works with primary c are physicians, mental health professionals, and schools
to provide the highest quality of mental health and wellness care available to our community.
Provides leadership for the team development of the Individual Education Plan (IEP) for each student. Monitors, reviews and revises as needed the IEP. Completes progress documentation, including report cards, assessments, and IEP progress reports for parents and Local Education Agency (LEA). Plans and implements developmentally and instructionally appropriate daily lesson plans and therapeutic teaching strategies consistent with IEP goals and objectives, transition plan and the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOLs). Esteblishes and maintains a therapeutic, prosocial learning environment. Participates in staff meetings and committee meetings as assigned. Provides assessment, planning, treatment, intervention and evaluation to patients with addictions.
Job & Education Requirements:
Bachelors Degree. Prefer Special Education degree.
One year professional experience in a school setting. Must be proficient in English and possess verbal and written skills and basic computer knowledge.
Eligible for Virginia licensure
This position serves grades 7-12.
The duties include instructing students in content areas pursuant to their IEPs and other school responsibilities. Staff hours are 7:50am to 4:00pm. The last day for students is June 19th and June 21st is the last day for teachers to complete reports and other paperwork.
This position is for an immediate fill and not for the upcoming fall semester.
