Job Summary: The Special Events Manager orchestrates fundraising events, oversees planning committees, sponsorship and ticket procurement, vendor management and site event coordination. Must be able to successfully strategize and plan an events, determine messaging, and secure attendance. Works with other members of the Charitable Giving team to grow awareness of fundraising efforts and functions as a key team member to support other aspects of fundraising. The special events manager must also have the ability to think strategically and be able to collaborate with executive management, internal departments, and outside vendors.

Essential Functions:
o Identify events to host, attend, and/or sponsor by researching, obtaining statistics, and collaborating with executive management and other departments
o Outline the goals and objectives of each event
o Create and maintain event profiles, checklists, itineraries, wrap-up reports
o Conduct post event analysis to include both the positive outcomes of the event as well as areas for improvement to be considered for future events
o Devise, document, and maintain policies and procedures as they pertain to events
o Collect and maintain event details for reporting and future event selection
o Negotiate with outside vendors
o Complete all event logistics (food/beverage, booth, printed materials, shipping, utilities, etc.)
o Create and submit business cases, purchase orders, invoices, etc., for events as instructed by company policy
o Send frequent and thorough updates on the progress of every event, ensuring that all involved parties have the information they need
o Understand the interests and needs of different demographic groups to ensure appropriate planning for each event
o Approach each event with the knowledge that the overarching goal of all events is to increase the donor base for the organization.
