Under general supervision, performs as Prosecution Support Investigator, assisting attorneys in the Prosecution/State Grand Jury Section with trial work. Assists in a wide selection of cases initiated by the prosecution staff and/or referred to the Office by other governmental bodies. Will interview witnesses, acquire witness statements and procure relevant documents and evidence. Will prepare detailed reports of findings and consult with prosecutors. Will assist prosecutors with preparation of documents for court and cases and other matters relating to Prosecution/State Grand Jury. Will serve as a primary contact for retrieving exhibits for sections throughout the Office. Assists with other related duties as assigned by Assistant Deputy, Senior Assistant Deputy, or Chief Deputy Attorney General.
Minimum and Additional Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree or a high school diploma and three years of experience in a criminal justice, investigative, or other related field. Candidate must be a certified law enforcement officer.
Experience working with attorneys on prosecutorial matters preferred. Must have sound research skills, maturity and diplomacy in communications with others. Must be well organized and able to work independently. May require overnight travel. Investigative background experience required.
