DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•The Special Projects & Development Coordinator will work with the Executive Director, or person Executive Director designates, to identify needs and funding sources
•The SPD will work/coordinate projects with collaborating and partner agencies in line with IVAT’s mission
•Research and identify grants and private foundations that fit IVAT’s mission and goals; complete grant and foundation requirements, which includes writing the grant and submitting in a timely manner
•The SPD will be the point of contact with the Alliant Grants and Sponsored Program division in order to coordinate grant applications
•Recruit, maintain IVAT sponsors, donors; creates and updates database
•Assist in the creation of collateral material in support of outreach and marketing strategies
•Solicits financial and in-kind donations to support conferences, trainings, and professional services; utilize, improve and monitor online and community donations, individual giving and charitable campaigns
•Actively engage local and national representatives to partner with on identified issues; establish and oversee IVAT special projects and foundation grants including support of the National Partnership to End Interpersonal Violence Across the Lifespan (NPEIV)
•Assist in the establishment of a development committee to benefit IVAT activities and the NPEIV
•Serve as chair/co-chair of the Development/Underwriting Subcommittee for the International Conference Planning Committee
•Assist with the Host Committee development for the Hawaii conference
•Works in tandem with Outreach person in reaching out to the community and spreading the word about IVAT; assist in the recruitment of volunteers, sponsors and exhibitors
•Direct events through formulation, organization, sponsorship, execution, recognition, and evaluation
•Establish and supervise committees as needed
•Determine sponsor list of respective events through contacts, past history, interest, etc.
•Strategize methods to retain existing supporters and assess markets to establish new support resources
•Ensure efficiency and cost effectiveness through in-kind donations and volunteers
•Oversee silent auction and other fundraisers that occur on-site or at IVAT sponsored events

The Special Projects & Development Coordinator (SPD), under the general direction of the Executive Director, or person the Executive Director assigns, will supervise the overall processes of the Institute’s special projects efforts including: assisting in the development of support committee in the community and help in expanding the contacts and contracts for the professional services department; involvement and support for the conferences as needed; oversight of special projects and grants; and other administrative tasks.
The Special Projects & Development Coordinator will be dedicated to providing high quality service to all constituencies of Alliant International University. The incumbent will exhibit the highest professional standards and ethical principles and will be committed to the tenets of Alliant International University’s IVAT Mission and Vision.

Bachelor’s Degree required in Mental Health, Social Work, Criminal Justice, Business or related fields. Person with a Master’s degree in one of these fields is preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Applications; Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, WordPerfect, various design software, and website technology.
Three-plus years of progressively more responsible experience in the outreach, marketing, public relations or communications field. Nonprofit experience preferred.
