Hanover Research is actively recruiting an experienced Specialist, Survey Design (Education Practices) for our Washington, D.C. office. This individual will work closely with Content Directors and partners in the education sphere to design surveys that deliver actionable content addressing various market research questions within our education practice areas. The ideal candidate will draw upon powerful logical thinking skills and advanced proficiency with survey technology to design survey instruments focused towards a target audience with extreme accuracy. This position will allow for the swift development and refinement of a comprehensive set of market research skills and provides the opportunity to develop a relationship with a young and rapidly-growing enterprise. Location: Washington, D.C.
Primary responsibilities will include the following:
? Develop survey instruments that deliver actionable content to address partners' research questions;
? Create high quality, customized surveys that require little to no editing time;
? Write survey questions that are grammatically correct and logically consistent to generate pertinent information in an efficient manner;
? Program surveys into one of Hanover Research's platforms;
? Tailor survey language to appeal to diverse audiences;
? Create "gold standard" survey templates as reference tools;
? Other survey special projects as needed;

? Interest in taking on management responsibilities as the survey team grows;
? Ability to work quickly and independently with minimal guidance or oversight;
? Willingness to tackle complex, often unfamiliar research requests;
? Strong command of the English language and demonstrated writing skills;
? Proven ability to make quick and informed decisions under very tight deadlines;
? An extremely strong and demonstrable work ethic;
? Familiarity designing surveys that address a range of K-12 student audiences;
? Applied experience designing surveys within the education space;
? Experience communicating survey questions and logistics to address client questions;
? Strong technical experience applying CSS and HTML methodology;
? Comfort level with Qualtrics and SurveyGizmo survey platforms;
? Expertise in survey design and survey sample development;
? Experience in an undergraduate or graduate research role (institutional research, assessment, etc.) is preferred.
Minimum Education Required:
A Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, Psychology, Sociology, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline is preferred. Professional or Academic Survey Design Credentials Highly Preferred.
5-7 years of professional experience specializing in survey design, preferably within the education sector.
