Performs semi-professional work on various projects and programs. Work is performed under supervision within established policies with latitude for independent judgment. Employee performance is based upon a review of completed work and overall results obtained. May supervise specialized clerical section.
Will function as clerical support for the work area assigned. Will work as a medical records clerk/ward clerk, including chart management; computer data entry, coding, scanning documents, and transportation of charts, copying and thinning of charts. Also ordering and transportation of supplies. Responsible for assisting physicians and nursing staff in a multitude of assignments. Assists staff with admissions and discharges in/out of the hospital. Functions as clerical support for the work area assigned. Occasionally covers as telephone support for unit operator.
Other duties as assigned.
Work days Monday-Friday;
with weekends and holidays off.
High school plus 4 years experience. Additional education may substitute on a year for year basis.
Previous medical records experience is a plus.
