This highly visible position interacts with all levels within the clinical manufacturing organization.
Functions:
• Lead improvement initiatives in areas of waste reduction, right first time approaches and productivity improvement
• Manage implementation of Global Network Initiatives
• Define key performance metrics to identify continuous improvement opportunities
• Develop risk assessments and mitigation processes for operational standards
• Analyze performance trends for all manufacturing areas
• Develop definitions and scoping criteria to facilitate the implementation of operational improvement projects
• Perform resource gap analysis for labor and machinery and develop strategies to close gaps
• Develop/refine continuous improvement programs and assist in performance improvement projects
• Lead implementation of Lean Transformation and other Operational Excellence methods
• Facilitate process improvement teams (e.g. Kaizen events)
Basic Qualifications
• Doctorate degree
OR
• Master’s degree & 3 years of directly related experience
OR
• Bachelor’s degree & 5 years of directly related experience
OR
• Associate’s degree & 10 years of directly related experience
OR
• High school diploma / GED & 12 years of directly related experience
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in Pharmaceutical / Biotechnology Manufacturing Operations
• Six Sigma, Lean Construction, Operational Excellence, or other continuous improvement methodology experience
- Track record in project management, continuous improvement, waste reduction and productivity improvement
- Strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to approach issues from a strategic perspective.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams and partner in a complex matrix environment
Competencies:
• Ability to combine technical problem-solving skills with business acumen to determine optimal business solution
• Excellent communications skills, both oral and written, including executive level presentation skills
• Interpersonal and facilitation skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Ability to tactfully negotiate and positively influence peers and executive leadership
• Strong analytical skills to identify potential improvement opportunities
